Tasks of the Structural Business Statistics Department:

 

1. Areas of expertise of the Structural Business Statistics Department:
1.1. business demography,
1.2. investment statistics
1.3. annual surveys of economic statistics (annual structural business statistics) of the HCSO,
1.4. other business statistics surveys,
1.5. management and maintenance of the the Statistical Business Register,
1.6. statistics related to globalisation,
1.7. data collection, data validation tasks of special respondents,
1.8. statistical utilisation of data on taxes paid by enterprises.
2. Tasks of the Structural Business Statistics Department according to the statistical data production process:
2.1. professional development of business demography statistics, planning, preparation and implementation of the integration of data from administrative sources and data collections, as well as the performance of dissemination tasks related to business statistics, and ensuring access to data at national and international level and performing related data collection tasks,
2.2. professional planning and preparation of yearly and interim investment statistics data surveys, data processing, quality control, correction and performing related data collection tasks,
2.3. the planning, preparation, processing, quality control and correction of the annual surveys of business statistics (annual structural business statistics) of the HCSO, operation of the database on non-financial corporations in co-operation with the national accounts and performing related data collection tasks,
2.4. compiling annual structural business statistics for financial corporations;
2.5. the planning, technical preparation, processing, quality control and correction of other collections of business statistics (material statistics, statistics on local units, statistics on foreign affiliates) and performing related data collection tasks;
2.6. operation and professional development of the Statistical Business Register (hereinafter referred to as the SBR) and its sub-registers, creation of register-based economic statistics, dissemination and provision of information, technical planning, technical preparation, performing related data collection tasks, processing, updating the register after quality control and correction of data collections related to the SBR and the receipt of data from administrative data sources, contributing to the development and modification of the statistical nomenclatures used in the SBR;
2.7. acquiring knowledge about globalisation-related enterprises and processes, collecting basic data or participating in the organisation of data collection on them, as well as in the data collection itself, handling, controlling, validating, preparing and quality control of the data received through data collections and data transfers, contacting with the main data providers and the professional organisation concerned, for all events occurring during the preparation and implementation of the data surveys;
2.8. professional development of statistics related to globalisation, planning, technical preparation, processing, and quality control of data collections and the reception of data from administrative data sources, dissemination and performing related data collection tasks;
2.9. receiving data on taxes paid by enterprises and preparing them for use in statistical data production processes;
2.10. validation at sectoral level of the data collected and received;
2.11. Participation in developing e-data collection techniques, in receiving, developing, shaping, quality control of new data sources ;
2.12. documenting and developing the methodology of the specialised areas for which the department is responsible;
2.13. producing data compilations, analyses, first releases and other subject-matter-related publications within the remit of the department;
2.14. contributing to the development of HCSO publications relating to multiple statistical areas;
2.15. national and international dissemination and data transmission as well as ensuring access to data;
2.16. updating the content of the registers belonging to the department and planning the data surveys necessary for the maintenance of the registers.
