The Investment first release will now be published earlier

Starting from the reference period of the first quarter of 2024, the Investment first release of the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (HCSO) will be published eight days earlier than before. One of the main objectives of the Office is to speed up data releases, reduce the time to market and thus improve timeliness.

Up-to-date, fact-based economic data are essential for data users in policy, business and academia, as well as the media. Economic, financial and technological developments in recent years have made it increasingly important to have economic indicators available as early as possible. Adapting to the challenges of the times, the Hungarian Central Statistical Office strives to meet the widest possible range of user needs through continuous innovation.

From the reference period of Q1 2024 onwards, the HCSO will publish the main indicators of investment statistics (volume index, seasonally adjusted volume index) in a simplified first release on t+52 days instead of 60 days after the reference period, earlier than in the previous practice.

Detailed quarterly investment statistics will continue to be published in the STADAT tables and in the Dissemination database with a deadline of t+60 days.

The dissemination and revision calendar now includes the annual release dates of the consolidated first releases. The first publication of the new first release will take place on 23 May 2024 at 8:30 a.m. The HCSO is confident that the new format of the data release will serve the satisfaction of our users.
