Employment and unemployment first releases are now merged into a single publication

The strategic priority of the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (HCSO) is to meet user needs as fully as possible, thereby increasing satisfaction. To this end, the HCSO actively encourages user feedback, monitors comments continuously and closely, and considers the suggestions received.

As a result of this effort, two previously separate but closely related labour market first releases, Employment and Unemployment, will be merged into a single publication from the reference period January 2024. The aim of the merger is to provide users with the main characteristics of labour market participation in a single publication. The data will be available with the same timeliness and level of detail, the range of Stadat tables belonging to this topic will be extended and the first release will be complemented with data on the so-called economically inactive (those of working age but not in the labour market as employed or unemployed).

The annual publication dates of the merged first releases are now available in the publication and revision calendar. The first merged release will take place on 23 February 2024 at 8:30. The HCSO is confident that the renewed format of the data release will serve the satisfaction of our users.
