HCSO Spatial Statistics Workshop held a meeting

It is of utmost importance for the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (HCSO) to maintain close partnerships with the domestic and international scientific community, to exploit synergies and to promote knowledge sharing between the different professional workshops. To this end, the Spatial Statistics Workshop, a joint professional forum between the HCSO and university departments, doctoral schools and research institutes involved in spatial research, was established in 2019 at the initiative of the HCSO. This year's meeting of the Spatial Statistics Workshop was held on 14 October 2024 at the Palace of Statistics.

This year's meeting of the Workshop on Spatial Statistics was held on 14 October 2024 with the participation of 13 academic partner institutions. The aim of the professional consultation forum was to strengthen the scientific dialogue, to deepen the cooperation between the HCSO and researchers and to promote the sharing of experience and knowledge.

The forum discussed the possibilities of using the territorial data of the census, the economic and social comparison of Hungary's functional urban areas, the territorial aspects of the Virtual Hungary project, and the current issues of the thematic journals of the HCSO (Területi Statisztika and Regional Statistics). After the keynote speeches, the technical meeting provided an opportunity for constructive scientific dialogue and to discuss further ways of cooperation.

The patrons of the event were Dr. Áron Kincses, President of the HCSO and Dr. Géza Tóth, research fellow.
