Introduction of co-ordination of samples for business statistics surveys conducted by the HCSO

In line with the objectives of lowering the burden on data suppliers and using practices based on sound methodology for official statistics, the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (HCSO) introduced a new co-ordinated approach in the selection of samples for certain business statistics surveys from 2019. The essence of this is that the selection of samples for these surveys is not independent from one another but, when selecting the sample for a particular survey, the existing response burden on data suppliers included in samples for the other co-ordinated surveys is considered. As a result, the burden on data suppliers can be spread more evenly.
