The Spatial Statistics Workshop, HCSO´s professional consultation and knowledge-sharing forum, meets again, 07/10/2024

This year, the Spatial Statistics Workshop of the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (HCSO), the professional forum established in 2019 by HCSO and university departments, doctoral schools and research institutes dealing with spatial research, will hold its meeting again. The workshop, to be held on 14 October 2024 at the main building of the HCSO, will feature keynote speeches on the potential uses of census spatial data, comparisons between Hungary's functional urban areas and current developments. In addition to the above, the meeting will provide an opportunity for professional dialogue and to discuss further ways of cooperation.

The aim of the Spatial Statistics Workshop is to strengthen the scientific dialogue and deepen the cooperation between the HCSO and researchers. To date, the HCSO has signed cooperation agreements with 22 institutions, but is also open to new institutions wishing to join the workshop. The main areas of activity of the Spatial Statistics Workshop include discussing experiences with the data, surveys and publications of the HCSO dealing with territorial issues, strengthening synergies between the Office and the spatial statistics research workshops in partner institutions, promoting joint research and publication activities, organising conferences and lectures.
