Cooperation between the HCSO and the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, 18/07/2024
The Hungarian Central Statistical Office (HCSO) and the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI) have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at reducing the data reporting burden on domestic enterprises, promoting professional dialogue and efficient sharing of available information to increase the competitiveness of enterprises.
The HCSO is committed to the accurate and reliable collection, analysis and dissemination of economic data in order to contribute to economic stability, development and increased competitiveness.
On 18 July 2024, the Hungarian Central Statistical Office and the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a cooperation agreement. Through this cooperation, the parties aim to harmonise and simplify the data reporting obligations of domestic enterprises and streamline the data reporting process, while placing particular emphasis on the dissemination of available data to enterprises in order to help them better know and understand the economic environment around them. The aim is to establish a two-way communication between enterprises as data providers and the HCSO as data requestor. The HCCI, in close alliance with the regional chambers, helps enterprises to understand and make effective use of the economic data aggregated by the HCSO.
The strategic objective of the HCSO is to reduce the burden on enterprises and institutions, which is primarily achieved by continuously replacing traditional statistical data collections with alternative and administrative data sources. It is in the common interest of the HCSO and economic operators to fulfil their data reporting obligations accurately and to process and publish the data, which also supports business decisions. In the future, the statistical office and the HCCI will cooperate in sharing information and knowledge, conducting joint research with the Chamber’s research centre – HCCI Institute for Economic and Enterprise Research –, expert partnerships and mutual professional support.
