Motor fuel price statistics, November 2024

Based on data of the EU’s Weekly Oil Bulletin, the average price of 95-octane petrol was 610 forints in Hungary in the month of November, which was 4 forints or 0.7% lower than the average of 614 forints for neighbouring countries. In countries in the region, the average price in November was 595 forints, the price in Hungary being 2.5% or 15 forints higher. Compared to the figure for the previous month, the average price of 95 petrol increased by 13 forints in Hungary. In parallel, the averages observed for countries in the region and for neighbouring countries grew by 13 forints, too.
The monthly average price of diesel motor fuel was 624 forints in Hungary, which was 2 forints or 0.3% lower than the average of 626 forints for neighbouring countries. The average price of diesel motor fuel was 23 forints or 3.8% higher in Hungary than the regional average price of 601 forints. Compared to the figure for the previous month, the monthly average price of diesel oil went up by 21 forints in Hungary. The average price observed for neighbouring countries also increased by 21 forints, and the regional average price by 19 forints compared to October data.
Out of the countries in the region, the average price of petrol was higher in Austria, Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia and Slovakia than in Hungary in November. Compared to the figure for the previous month, the price of petrol went up the most, by 21 forints in Slovenia.
The average price of 95-octane petrol was less than 5% lower in Poland and Romania, 5–10% lower in Czechia, and more than 15% lower in Bulgaria than in Hungary.
The average price of diesel oil in November was higher in Austria, Serbia and Slovenia than the value in Hungary, however, it was over 15% lower in Bulgaria. Compared to the figure for the previous month, the average price of diesel increased in all countries in the region, and the largest growth of 24 forints was recorded for Slovenia.
