Motor fuel price statistics

Based on the latest data of the EU’s Weekly Oil Bulletin, the average price of 95-octane petrol was 614 forints in Hungary, which was 16 forints or 2.7% higher than the regional average. In neighbouring countries, the average price was 610 forints, the price in Hungary being 0.7% or 4 forints higher. The weekly average price of diesel motor fuel was 626 forints in Hungary, which was 27 forints or 4.5% higher than the regional average price of 599 forints. In neighbouring countries, the average price of diesel was 616 forints, and the figure for Hungary was 1.6% or 10 forints higher than this.

The average price of 95 petrol in Hungary rose by 8 forints compared to the figure for the previous week. In parallel, the regional average increased, too, by 2 forints. In neighbouring countries, the average price of petrol went up by 4 forints.

Diesel motor fuel prices in Hungary as well as in countries in the region and in neighbouring countries

The average price of diesel oil in Hungary increased by 2 forints over a week. The regional average price was up by 3 forints, and the price observed for neighbouring countries by 5 forints.

Compared to Hungary, the average price of petrol was higher in Austria, Serbia and Slovakia out of the countries in the region according to the latest data. Compared to the figures for the previous week, the price of petrol went down the most, by 5 forints in Slovenia.

The average price of 95-octane petrol was less than 5% lower in Czechia, Croatia and Poland, 5–10% lower in Romania and Slovenia and more than 10% lower in Bulgaria than in Hungary.

The weekly average price of diesel oil was higher in Austria and Serbia than the value in Hungary, however, it was over 15% lower in Bulgaria than that. Compared to the previous week, the average price of diesel increased in all countries in the region except Bulgaria, Poland, Serbia and Slovenia. The largest growth of 17 forints was recorded for Romania.
