Motor fuel price statistics

Based on the latest data of the EU’s Weekly Oil Bulletin, the average price of 95-octane petrol was 606 forints in Hungary, which was 10 forints or 1.7% higher than the regional average. In neighbouring countries, the average price was 606 forints, the price in Hungary was the same. The weekly average price of diesel motor fuel was 624 forints in Hungary, which was 28 forints or 4.7% higher than the regional average price of 596 forints. In neighbouring countries, the average price of diesel was 611 forints, and the figure for Hungary was 2.1% or 13 forints higher than this.
The average price of 95 petrol in Hungary increased by 11 forints compared to the figure for the previous week. In regional and neighbouring countries, the average price of petrol went down by 1 and 3 forints.
The average price of diesel oil in Hungary increased by 17 forints over a week. The regional average price was increased by 4 forints, and the price observed for neighbouring countries increased by 3 forints.
Compared to Hungary, the average price of petrol was higher in Austria, Serbia and Slovakia out of the countries in the region according to the latest data. Compared to the figures for the previous week the price of petrol went down the most in Croatia, by 16 forints.
The average price of 95-octane petrol in Czechia, Croatia, Poland and Slovenia was less than 5% lower than the average price in Hungary. The average price in Romania was lower as well, being 5–10% below that in Hungary. The average price in Bulgaria was more than 10% lower.
In the case of diesel oil, the weekly average prices in Austria and Serbia were higher than the value in Hungary, however, the average price was over 15% lower in Bulgaria compared to the average price of diesel motor fuel in Hungary. The average price of diesel increased in all countries in the region except Bulgaria, Croatia and Slovenia compared to the previous week. The largest growth of 17 forints was recorded for Hungary.
