Motor fuel price statistics

Based on the latest data of the EU’s Weekly Oil Bulletin, the average price of 95-octane petrol was 587 forints in Hungary, which was 8 forints lower than the regional average. In neighbouring countries, the average price was 605 forints, the price in Hungary being 3.0% or 18 forints lower. The weekly average price of diesel motor fuel was 595 forints in Hungary, which was 7 forints or 1.2% higher than the regional average price of 588 forints. In neighbouring countries, the average price of diesel was 602 forints, and the figure for Hungary was 1.2% or 7 forints lower than this.
The average price of 95 petrol in Hungary decreased by 7 forints compared to the figure for the previous week. The regional average price and the average price observed for neighbouring countries went down to the same extent, by 5 forints.
The average price of diesel oil in Hungary was lowered by 6 forints over a week. The regional average price was reduced by 3 forints, and the price observed for neighbouring countries decreased by 1 forint.
Compared to Hungary, the average price of petrol was higher in Austria, Czechia, Croatia, Poland, Serbia, Slovenia and Slovakia out of the countries in the region according to the latest data. Compared to the figures for the previous week, the price of petrol went down the most in Slovakia, by 8 forints.
The average price of 95 octane petrol in Romania was 5–10% below that in Hungary. The average price in Bulgaria was more than 10% lower.
In the case of diesel oil, the weekly average prices in Austria, Croatia and Serbia were higher than the value in Hungary, however, the average price was over 10% lower in Bulgaria compared to the average price of diesel motor fuel in Hungary. The average price of diesel decreased in all countries in the region except Bulgaria, Croatia and Slovenia compared to the previous week. The largest reduction of 7 forints was recorded for Poland.
