Motor fuel price statistics

Based on the latest data of the EU’s Weekly Oil Bulletin, the average price of 95-octane petrol was 594 forints in Hungary, which was 6 forints lower than the regional average. In neighbouring countries, the average price was 610 forints, the price in Hungary being 2.6% or 16 forints lower. The weekly average price of diesel motor fuel was 601 forints in Hungary, which was 10 forints or 1.7% higher than the regional average price of 591 forints. In neighbouring countries, the average price of diesel was 603 forints, and the figure for Hungary was 0.3% or 2 forints lower than this.
The average price of 95 petrol in Hungary decreased by 7 forints compared to the figure for the previous week. The regional average price and the average price observed for neighbouring countries went up to the same extent, by 5 forints.
The average price of diesel oil in Hungary remained unchanged compared to the previous week. The regional average price was up by 6 forints and the price observed for neighbouring countries by 7 forints.
Compared to Hungary, the average price of petrol was higher in Austria, Czechia, Croatia, Poland, Serbia and Slovakia out of the countries in the region according to the latest data. The price of petrol went down the most in Hungary, by 7 forints.
The average price of 95-octane petrol in Slovenia was less than 5% lower than the average price in Hungary. The average price in Romania was lower as well, being 5–10% below that in Hungary. The average price in Bulgaria was more than 10% lower.
In the case of diesel oil, the weekly average prices in Austria and Serbia were higher than the value in Hungary, however, the average price was over 10% lower in Bulgaria compared to the average price of diesel motor fuel in Hungary. The average price of diesel increased in all countries in the region except Hungary compared to the previous week. The largest growth of 12 forints was recorded for Serbia.
