Based on the latest data of the EU’s Weekly Oil Bulletin, the average price of 95-octane petrol was 601 forints in Hungary, which was 6 forints higher than the regional average. In neighbouring countries, the average price was 605 forints, the price in Hungary being 0.7% or 4 forints lower. The weekly average price of diesel motor fuel was 601 forints in Hungary, which was 16 forints or 2.7% higher than the regional average price of 585 forints. In neighbouring countries, the average price of diesel was 596 forints, and the figure for Hungary was 0.8% or 5 forints higher than this.
The average price of 95 petrol in Hungary decreased by 2 forints compared to the figure for the previous week. In parallel, the regional average lessened, too, by 7 forints. In neighbouring countries, the average price of petrol went down by 8 forints.
The average price of diesel oil in Hungary increased by 1 forint over a week. The regional average price and the average price observed for neighbouring countries were reduced to the same extent, by 5 forints.
Compared to Hungary, the average price of petrol was higher in Austria, Czechia, Serbia and Slovakia out of the countries in the region according to the latest data. The price of petrol went down the most in Croatia, by 19 forints.
The average price of 95-octane petrol in Croatia, Poland and Slovenia was less than 5% lower than the average price in Hungary. The average price in Romania was lower as well, being 5–10% below that in Hungary. The average price in Bulgaria was more than 10% lower.
In the case of diesel oil, the weekly average prices in Austria and Serbia were higher than the value in Hungary, however, the average price was 15% lower in Bulgaria compared to the average price of diesel motor fuel in Hungary. The average price of diesel was reduced in all countries in the region except Hungary compared to the previous week. The largest reductions of 12 and 11 forints were recorded for Bulgaria and Croatia, respectively.
