Industrial producer prices 2.6% higher than a year earlier and 1.0% higher than in previous month

Industrial producer prices were 2.6% higher on average in October 2024 than one year earlier. Domestic output prices lessened by 0.5%, while non-domestic output prices were 4.1% higher than in October 2023. Compared to the previous month, domestic output prices lessened by 0.5%, and non-domestic output prices were 1.8%, so industrial producer prices as a whole 1.0% higher than a year earlier.

In October 2024 compared to October 2023:

Domestic output prices lessened by 0.5% on average, within which those in manufacturing, a section representing a weight of 60.0%, rose by 1.2% and those in the energy industry (electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply), a section with a weight of 38.6%, were cut by 4.0%. Food industry output prices were 2.5% higher.

Prices in Hungary decreased by 2.5% in energy and intermediate producer branches together and were up by 6.8% in capital goods producer and by 2.8% in consumer goods producer branches out of the end-use groups of the producer branches of industry.

Industrial non-domestic output prices were 4.1% higher, within which the prices went up by 4.0% in manufacturing, representing a weight of 82.9%, and by 1.4% in the energy industry, with a weight of 16.7%.

In January–October 2024 compared to January–October 2023:

Domestic output prices lessened by 2.6% and non-domestic output prices rose by 0.6%, so industrial producer prices as a whole were 0.5% lower.
