Industrial producer prices decrease by 4.3% in February 2024 compared to a year earlier and go up by 0.5% compared to previous month

Industrial producer prices were 4.3% lower on average in February 2024 compared to one year earlier. Domestic output prices were cut by 5.8% and non-domestic output prices by 3.5%. Compared to the previous month, domestic output prices went up by 0.7% and non-domestic output prices by 0.3%, so industrial producer prices as a whole rose by 0.5%.

In February 2024 compared to February 2023:

Domestic output prices were 5.8% lower on average, within which they decreased by 2.0% in manufacturing, representing a weight of 60.0%, and by 14.1% in the energy industry (electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply), with a weight of 38.6%. Food industry output prices lessened by 6.7%.

Prices in Hungary fell by 8.8% in energy and intermediate producer branches together, and rose by 4.8% in capital goods producer and lessened by 1.1% in consumer goods producer branches out of the end-use groups of the producer branches of industry.

Industrial non-domestic output prices were reduced by 3.5%, within which the prices were up by 0.7% in manufacturing, representing a weight of 82.9%, and were 33.1% lower in the energy industry, with a weight of 16.7%.

In January–February 2024 compared to January–February 2023:

Domestic output prices lessened by 6.7% and non-domestic output prices by 4.9%, so industrial producer prices as a whole decreased by 5.5%.
