6,196 children are born and 10,267 people lose their lives

According to preliminary data, 6,196 children were born and 10,267 people died in November 2024. The number of births lessened by 8.4%, that of deaths by 4.7% and that of marriages by 12% compared to the same period of the previous year.

In November 2024:

A total of 6,196 children were born, 8.4% or 569 fewer than in November 2023.

10,267 people lost their lives, 4.7% or 503 less than a year earlier.

The natural decrease was 4,071, as opposed to 4,005 in November 2023.

2,724 couples got married, which was 12% or 382 less than a year earlier.

In January–November 2024:

71,094 children were born, 7,522 or 9.6% less than in January–November 2023. Within this, the number of live births was 9.1% lower in January–March, 6.8% lower in April–May, 14% lower in June–August and 7.4% lower in September–November than in the same periods of 2023.

The total fertility rate was estimated at 1.38 per female, which was 1.52 a year earlier.

There were 115,176 deaths, 0.3% or 341 fewer than one year earlier. Compared to the same periods of the previous year, 1.1% more people died in January–February, 7.9% more in July–September, 0.2% more in October, while 5.7% less people deceased in March–June and 4.7% less in November than in the corresponding periods of the previous year.

Due to the balance of births and deaths, the natural decrease was 44,082 people, which was 19% more than the value of 36,901 for January–November 2023.

44,550 couples got married, 6.2% or 2,923 less than a year earlier. 27% more marriages were registered in January–February, 3.2% more in April–May and 2.0% more in August, but 1.9% less in March, 14% less in June–July and 18% less in September–November compared to the corresponding periods of 2023.

There were 8.1 live births and 13.1 deaths per thousand population. The rate of live births was 0.8 per mille points lower, while that of deaths was almost the same as in January–November 2023. The rate of natural decrease increased by 0.8 per mille points to 5.0 per mille. The number of infant deaths was 3.8 per thousand live births, which was 0.8 per mille points more compared to the same period of the previous year. The marriage rate was 5.1 per mille, 0.3 per mille points lower than a year earlier.
