In November, 6,780 children are born and 10,351 people lose their lives
According to preliminary data, 6,780 children were born and 10,351 people died in November 2023. The number of births lessened by 6.9%, that of deaths by 5.6% and the number of marriages by 2.2% compared to November 2022. Natural decrease continued to slow down.
In November 2023:
A total of 6,780 children were born, 6.9% or 502 fewer than a year earlier.
10,351 people lost their lives, 5.6% or 609 fewer than in November 2022.
The natural decrease was 3,571, as opposed to 3,678 in November 2022.
3,107 couples got married, which was 2.2% or 69 fewer than in November 2022.
In January–November 2023:
78,579 children were born, 2,480 or 3.1% less than in January–November 2022. Within this, the number of live births was 7.7% more in January–March, while it was 2.1% less in April, 9.3% less in May–June, and 6.1% less in July–November compared to the corresponding months of 2022.
The total fertility rate was estimated at 1.51 per female, which was 1.53 a year earlier.
There were 114,950 deaths, 7.2% less or 8,865 fewer than one year earlier. 11% less people died in January–February, 4.2% less in March–June, and 7.7% less in July–November compared to the same periods of the previous year.
The number of deaths decreased to a greater extent than that of births, resulting in a natural decrease of 36,371, which was 15% lower than the value of 42,756 for January–November 2022.
47,480 couples got married, 22% or 13,701 fewer than a year earlier. 45% less marriages were registered in January–February, 31% less in March–April, 23% less in May–August and 8.1% less in September–November than in the corresponding months of 2022.
There were 8.9 live births and 13.1 deaths per thousand population. The rate of live births was 0.2 per mille points and that of deaths 0.9 per mille points lower than in January–November 2022, as a result of which the rate of natural decrease lessened by 0.7 per mille points to 4.1 per mille. The number of infant deaths was 3.0 per thousand live births in January–November 2023, which was a decrease of 0.5 per mille points compared to the same period of the previous year. The marriage rate was 5.4 per mille, 1.5 per mille points lower than a year earlier.
