Average gross earnings at HUF 668,100, 10.4% higher than a year earlier
Full-time employees’ average gross earnings were HUF 668,100 and average net earnings with tax benefits reached HUF 459,000 in January 2025. Average gross earnings grew by 10.4%, net earnings increased by 10.2% and real earnings were 4.6% higher than a year earlier. Median gross earnings were HUF 539,500, and median net earnings were HUF 373,600, both surpassing the value for the same period of the previous year by 9.3%.

Full-time employees’ average gross earnings were HUF 668,100, which was 10.4% higher than a year earlier.
Regular average gross earnings (without premiums and one-month bonuses) were estimated at HUF 639,800, being 10.6% higher than in the same period of the previous year. The regular average gross earnings amounted to HUF 635,400 in the business sector, HUF 645,100 in the budgetary sector and HUF 668,300 in the non-profit sector, rising by 10.2%, 11.9% and 11.5%, respectively, over a year.
Average net earnings reached HUF 444,300, excluding tax benefits and HUF 459,000, including them, being 10.4% and 10.2% higher, respectively, than in January 2024.
Real earnings were up by 4.6%, along with a 5.5% increase in consumer prices compared to the same period of the previous year.
Median gross earnings were HUF 539,500, being 9.3% above the level a year earlier.
Median net earnings including tax benefits reached HUF 373,600, surpassing the value for the same period of the previous year by 9.3%.
