Average gross earnings amount to HUF 628,800 in August 2024, 13.1% higher than a year earlier
Full-time employees’ average gross earnings were HUF 628,800 and average net earnings with tax benefits reached HUF 433,100 in August 2024. Average gross earnings grew by 13.1%, net earnings increased by 12.9% and real earnings were 9.4% higher than a year earlier. Median gross earnings were HUF 520,000, median net earnings were HUF 360,100, surpassing the value for the same period of the previous year by 15.6% and 15.3%, respectively.
August 2024:
Full-time employees’ average gross earnings were HUF 628,800, which was 13.1% higher than a year earlier.
Regular average gross earnings (without premiums and one-month bonuses) were estimated at HUF 601,300, being 13.8% higher than in the same period of the previous year. Regular average gross earnings amounted to HUF 600,800 in the business sector, HUF 596,800 in the budgetary sector and HUF 619,700 in the non-profit sector, rising by 13.1%, 15.2% and 16.6%, respectively, over a year.
Average net earnings reached HUF 418,100, excluding tax benefits and HUF 433,100, including them, being 13.1% and 12.9% higher than in August 2023.
Real earnings were up by 9.4%, along with a 3.4% increase in consumer prices compared to the same period of the previous year.
Median gross earnings were HUF 520,000, being 15.6% above the level a year earlier.
Median net earnings including tax benefits reached HUF 360,100, surpassing the value for the same period of the previous year by 15.3%.
January-August 2024:
Full-time employees’ average gross earnings amounted to HUF 634,300.
Average net earnings were HUF 421,800, excluding tax benefits and HUF 436,600, including tax benefits.
Average gross earnings and average net earnings excluding tax benefits increased by 13.9% and net earnings including tax benefits rose by 13.7% compared to the same period of the previous year.
