Average gross earnings amount to HUF 652,000 in May 2024, 14.8% higher than a year earlier
Full-time employees’ average gross earnings were HUF 652,000 and average net earnings with tax benefits reached HUF 448,700 in May 2024. Average gross earnings grew by 14.8%, net earnings increased by 14.6% and real earnings were 10.4% higher than a year earlier. Median gross earnings were HUF 525,100, median net earnings were HUF 363,900, surpassing the value for the same period of the previous year by 16.9% and 17.2%, respectively.
May 2024:
Full-time employees’ average gross earnings were HUF 652,000, which was 14.8% higher than a year earlier.
Regular average gross earnings (without premiums and one-month bonuses) were estimated at HUF 607,800, being 15.1% higher than in the same period of the previous year. Regular average gross earnings amounted to HUF 609,100 in the business sector, HUF 592,900 in the budgetary sector and HUF 636,200 in the non-profit sector, rising by 14.1%, 17.5% and 19.3%, respectively, over a year.
Average net earnings reached HUF 433,600, excluding tax benefits and HUF 448,700, including them, being 14.8% and 14.6% higher than in May 2023.
Real earnings were up by 10.4%, along with a 4.0% increase in consumer prices compared to the same period of the previous year.
Median gross earnings were HUF 525,100, being 16.9% above the level a year earlier.
Median net earnings including tax benefits reached HUF 363,900, surpassing the value for the same period of the previous year by 17.2%.
January-May 2024:
Full-time employees’ average gross earnings amounted to HUF 633,300.
Average net earnings were HUF 421,100, excluding tax benefits and HUF 435,800, including tax benefits.
Average gross earnings and average net earnings excluding tax benefits increased by 14.2% and net earnings including tax benefits rose by 14.0% compared to the same period of the previous year.
