Average gross earnings amount to HUF 605,100 in January 2024, 14.6% higher than a year earlier
Full-time employees’ average gross earnings were HUF 605,100 and average net earnings with tax benefits reached HUF 416,600 in January 2024. Average gross earnings grew by 14.6%, average net earnings increased by 14.5% and real earnings were 10.4% higher than a year earlier. Median gross earnings were HUF 493,700, and median net earnings were HUF 341,700, surpassing the value for the same period of the previous year by 16.9% and 16.0%, respectively.
January 2024:
Full-time employees’ average gross earnings were HUF 605,100, which was 14.6% higher than a year earlier.
Regular average gross earnings (without premiums or one-month bonuses) were estimated at HUF 578,300, being 15.0% higher than in the same period of the previous year. Regular average gross earnings amounted to HUF 576,700 in the business sector, HUF 576,200 in the budgetary sector and HUF 599,400 in the non-profit sector, rising by 14.1%, 17.6% and 16.7%, respectively, over a year.
Average net earnings reached HUF 402,400, excluding tax benefits and HUF 416,600, including them, being 14.6% and 14.5% higher than in January 2023.
Real earnings were up by 10.4%, along with a 3.8% increase in consumer prices compared to the same period of the previous year.
Median gross earnings were HUF 493,700, being 16.9% above the level a year earlier.
Median net earnings including tax benefits reached HUF 341,700, surpassing the value for the same period of the previous year by 16.0%.
