In the September–November 2023 period, the number of employed persons was 4 million 755 thousand. While the number of people working in the domestic primary labour market was up by 34 thousand and that of those working abroad grew by 13 thousand, the number of public workers decreased by 6 thousand.
4 million 629 thousand people aged 15-64 were classified as employed, with an employment rate of 75.2% for the age group. The number of men in employment was essentially unchanged at 2 million 435 thousand, and their employment rate was 79.0%. The number of women in employment increased by 31 thousand to 2 million 194 thousand, and their employment rate reached 71.3%.

In the youth age group (15-24 years), 270 thousand people were employed and their employment rate was 27.3%. Among the so-called prime working age population (25-54 years old), the employment rate remained practically unchanged at 88.4%, while in the older age group (55-64 years old) it increased by 3.0 percentage points to 70.0%.
