Consumer prices 4.7% higher on average than in same month of previous year

Consumer prices were 4.7% higher on average in March 2025 than a year earlier. Compared to February, prices were unchanged on average.

In 12 months, compared to March 2024:

A price increase of 7.0% was recorded for food, within which 42.2% for flour, 32.7% for edible oil, 26.1% for eggs, 18.6% for coffee, 17.6% for chocolate and cocoa, 16.7% for milk, 16.0% for fruit and vegetable juices, 13.7% for butter and 7.6% for poultry meat. Within the product group, the price of other meat preparations lessened by 1.4% and that of pasta products by 0.8%. Services became 7.5% more expensive, within which rents were up by 11.8% and postal services became 11.3%, the repair and maintenance of vehicles 10.3%, the repair and maintenance of dwellings 10.0% and personal care services 9.9% more expensive. Alcoholic beverage and tobacco prices rose by 5.5%, within which the price of alcoholic beverages by 5.7%. Consumer durable prices were up by 2.1%, within which jewellery cost 21.0%, new passenger cars 6.1% and living and dining room furniture 3.2% more and second-hand passenger cars 2.0% less for consumers. 2.7% less was to be paid for electricity, gas and other fuels, within which the price of natural and manufactured gas diminished by 5.5% and that of firewood by 5.1% and 10.2% more was to be paid for butane and propane gas. Motor fuel prices lessened by 2.5% and pharmaceutical products became 3.1% more expensive.

In one month, compared to February 2025:

Consumer prices were unchanged on average. Food prices were unchanged as well. Within this, edible oil cost 4.1%, chocolate and cocoa 3.4%, buffet products 2.1%, pasta products 1.7%, coffee 1.3% and poultry meat 1.2% more for consumers. Within the product group, the price of margarine diminished by 9.9%, milk and milk product prices both by 5.4%, the price of butter by 5.1%, that of flour by 2.0%, sugar prices by 1.9% and the price of pork by 1.5%. The highest price rise of 1.2% was measured for clothing and footwear. Alcoholic beverage and tobacco prices rose by 0.5%, within which the price of alcoholic beverages by 0.8%. Consumer durables became 0.4% and services 0.3% more expensive, within which latter recreation in the country cost 1.7%, personal care services 1.4%, the repair and maintenance of vehicles 0.9% and the repair and maintenance of dwellings 0.7% more for consumers. An average 0.2% less was to be paid for electricity, gas and other fuels, within which 0.7% less for natural and manufactured gas (Press release). Motor fuel prices were cut by 4.1%.
