Consumer prices 3.7% higher than in same month of previous year
Consumer prices were 3.7% higher on average in November 2024 than a year earlier and 0.5% higher than in the previous month. Motor fuel prices surpassed by 2.4% those in October 2024.
In 12 months, compared to November 2023:
A price increase of 4.9% was recorded for food, within which 39.3% for flour, 16.6% for milk, 12.8% for chocolate and cocoa, 11.7% for fruit and vegetable juices, 10.1% for edible oil, 9.8% for eggs, 9.7% for butter, 7.9% for meals at restaurants and 6.3% for non-alcoholic beverages. Within the product group, the price of pasta products decreased by 6.4%, that of sugar by 5.8% and margarine prices by 2.7%. Services became 7.0%, within which motorway use, renting a motor vehicle and parking 10.9% more expensive and rents 10.9% higher as well, the repair and maintenance of vehicles 10.5%, other public entertainment tickets 9.6%, the repair and maintenance of dwellings 8.8% and personal care services 8.7% more expensive, the maintenance costs of private houses were up by 8.4% and recreational services became 7.3% more expensive. Alcoholic beverage and tobacco prices rose by 4.0%, within which the price of alcoholic beverages by 4.1%. 3.2% less had to be paid for electricity, gas and other fuels, within which 6.3% less for natural and manufactured gas and 0.3% less for electricity. Consumer durable prices lessened by 0.2%, within which second-hand passenger cars cost 6.6% less and jewellery 13.8%, new passenger cars 5.6%, living and dining room furniture 2.0% and kitchen and other furniture 1.2% more for consumers. Pharmaceutical products became 3.9% and motor fuels 0.7% more expensive.
In one month, compared to October 2024:
Consumer prices were up by 0.5% on average. Food became 0.9% more expensive on average, within which eggs cost 11.9%, fruit and vegetable juices 3.8%, seasonal food items (potatoes, fresh vegetables and fresh domestic and tropical fruits in total) 3.0%, non-alcoholic beverages 2.8%, milk products 1.7%, pork 0.7% and flour 0.5% more and sugar 3.7%, edible oil 1.7% and milk 0.3% less for consumers. Motor fuel prices increased by 2.4%. 0.4% more had to be paid on average for electricity, gas and other fuels, within which 1.5% more for butane and propane gas and 0.9% more for natural and manufactured gas (Press release). Service charges went up by 0.2% on average, within which rents became 0.8% higher and recreational services cost 0.3% less for consumers.
