Construction output volume decreased by 6.0% year-on-year, and went down by 2.1% compared to the previous month
Construction output volume, based on raw data, was below the previous year’s level by 6.0% in August 2024. Out of the main groups of construction the construction of buildings decreased by 3.2, that of civil engineering lessened by 10.2%. Based on seasonally and working day adjusted indices construction output was 2.1% lower than in July.
In August 2024 compared to the same month of the previous year:
Output decreased in both main groups of construction: the construction of buildings went down by 3.2%, that of civil engineering by 10.2%.
Among the divisions of construction, production volume dereased by 7.3% in the construction of buildings, and by 30.8% in civil engineering. Production in specialised construction activities, having the largest weight in construction, expanded by 11.5%.
The volume of new contracts concluded fell by 19.6%. Within it the volume of contracts for the construction of buildings lessened by 27.1%, those for civil engineering decreased by 11.1%, year-on-year.
The volume of the end-of-August stock of contracts at construction enterprises was 22.8% higher than in the same period of the previous year, within it the volume of contracts was down by 5.8% for the construction of buildings and grew by 51.4% for civil engineering works.
In the first eight months of 2024:
Production volume in construction grew by 1.8% compared to the same period of the previous year.
