Construction output volume decreased by 6.2% year-on-year, and went up by 1.0% compared to the previous month
Construction output volume, based on raw data, was below the previous year’s level by 6.2% in July 2024. Out of the main groups of construction the construction of buildings decreased by 2.8, that of civil engineering lessened by 10.6%. Based on seasonally and working day adjusted indices construction output was 1.0% higher than in June.
In July 2024 compared to the same month of the previous year:
Output decreased in both main groups of construction: the construction of buildings went down by 2.8%, that of civil engineering by 10.6%.
Among the divisions of construction, production volume dereased by 26.1% in the construction of buildings, and by 9.8% in civil engineering. Production in specialised construction activities, having the largest weight in construction, expanded by 8.6%.
The volume of new contracts concluded grew by 108.0%. Within it the volume of contracts for the construction of buildings lessened by 22.4%, for civil engineering increased by 283.0%, year-on-year. The extreme growth was due to the high value contracts for road constructions.
The volume of the end-of-July stock of contracts at construction enterprises was 21.0% higher than in the same period of the previous year, within it the volume of contracts was down by 5.4% for the construction of buildings and grew by 47.8% for civil engineering works.
In the first seven months of 2024:
Production volume in construction grew by 3.0% compared to the same period of the previous year.
