Programme
Description | Europe, over the past few decades, has been continuing activities to improve the quality of life and well-being for current and future generations through reconciling economic efficiency, social solidarity and environmental responsibility. In 2001, in the framework of the EU Sustainable Development Strategy, such problems as: climate, change and clean energy, conservation and management of natural resources, public health, social inclusion, demography and migration, global poverty and sustainable development challenges, sustainable transport, and sustainable consumption and production have been single out as key challenges for Europe for the next decades. These issues have a direct impact on governments, civil society, individuals and business, and if they are to be addressed, require cooperation from the public and private sectors. |
